About these terms

These terms apply when you use Just Invites (“we” or “us”), a service run by [Registered business name] (registration number [Registration number]). By booking our service, or by using our website or a guest link, you agree to them.

“Client” means the person who books our service for an event. “Guest” means a person invited to that event through a guest link.

The service

We design, send and manage digital invitations and RSVPs for weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. For each event we create an event address and a unique link for every guest or household, send the links by email and SMS, collect replies, follow up with guests who have not replied, email the client whenever a guest confirms or declines, give the client a live guest list, and send a guest report on request.

The exact scope for your event is set out in your quote.

What you provide

As a client, you agree that:

• the event details and guest list you give us are accurate and complete, including correct email addresses and cell numbers;
• you are entitled to give us your guests’ personal information and to have us contact them about your event, and you have told your guests you are doing so; and
• you will not use the service for anything unlawful, or to send guests anything other than invitations and reminders for your event.

Fees and payment

Our fees are set out in your quote. Fees are quoted in South African rand. SMS invitations are charged per guest, on top of the event fee.

A deposit is payable to confirm your booking and the balance is due before we send your invitations, as set out in your quote.

Work starts when you book, so fees already paid are not refundable once we have started your design, except where the law says otherwise or where we cannot deliver the service.

Changes to your invitation

We will make reasonable changes to guest details, answers and event information for you at no extra charge. If you need a substantial redesign, additional events or a much larger guest list, we will give you a new quote first.

Guest links and acceptable use

Each guest link is private to that guest’s invitation. Anyone who holds the link can view and update that invitation, so guests should not share it. Tell us straight away if a link has been shared by mistake and we will replace it.

You must not try to guess or access links that were not given to you, scrape our website, interfere with the service or use it to harass or mislead anyone. We may suspend an event if we reasonably believe the service is being misused.

Delivery of messages

We send invitations and reminders through email and SMS providers. Delivery depends on networks and providers we do not control, so we cannot guarantee that every message will arrive or be read. We will tell you if we see a message fail, and we can resend it or use another channel.

Availability

We work to keep invitation pages available while your event is running, but we cannot promise the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance from time to time.

Personal information

For guest information, the client is the responsible party and we are the operator under POPIA. We process it only on the client’s instructions and keep it secure, as described in our Privacy Policy. Guest information is deleted or anonymised 30 days after the event, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or the law requires us to keep it.

Ownership

The software, designs, themes and website remain ours. You keep ownership of the content you give us, such as names, photos and event text, and you allow us to use it to provide the service.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as network or provider failures, incorrect guest details, or guests who do not reply. Our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to the fees you paid us for the event concerned.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Cancellation

You can cancel by emailing us. Fees already paid for work done are handled as described in Fees and payment. We may end the service if you break these terms, and if we do so for a reason other than misuse we will refund fees for work not yet done.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest version, and the version in force when you booked applies to your event.
